Ceven, as in the number seven. My attempts at being witty come at such inopportune a time I baffle at the poorly thought puns that come out of my mind. Nevertheless, there were indeed seven things in Cebu worthy of such notice and it’s only fitting that I recount the cool stuff that happened during our trip this summer. These seven things have indeed made our simple Cebu trip a trip to remember.
Ceven things:
1. Marco Polo Hotel
Staying in Marco Polo was like staying in a haven of comfort. It was a relief to know that after a whole day’s exhaustion from doing a lot of activities and going around the city, we would be going home to this place.
That’s my older sister on the top right corner and my uncle on the bottom right.
And that’s my younger sister trying to be sneaky and whatnot around Marco Polo.
2. AA BBQ
Haha, mababaw kaligayahan ko but the joy of snagging a great deal on where to eat was simply rewarding. AA’s Bbq was such a good catch, we got our stomachs full, the food was super good and the best thing was it didn’t even nearly cost us a thousand pesos to feed our mouths of five. I’m such a sucker for cheap thrills.
3. PLANTATION BAY
EPIC would be an embarrassment of an understatement for how to describe Plantation Bay. My mom and dad were arguing whether to go to Shangri-la Mactan instead. It was my mom who wanted to go to Plantation and I’m glad she won the battle of the sexes or else we wouldn’t have been able to see these breathtaking sceneries. It didn’t surprise me when I heard that Plantation Bay is renowned as one of the top resorts in the world.
Do you see this?!
People can literally go outside their rooms and slide down to swim. The resort is surrounded with water everywhere. You know how the world is filled with 2 parts water and 1 part land? It’s like that here. It’s crazy.
But if that’s not enough to blow your mind, they didn’t stop at filling the whole place up with water, they infused a lot of activities to make the tourists’ stay a complete experience. Activities such as:
Kayak-ing
Gaming

Biking (Tandem biking at that! Ha!)
Katniss Everdeen lang ang peg!!
Bull’s eye bebe! That’s super near!! I think I’ll make a great Katniss Everdeen. Har har
There were other activities like wall climbing and golf but we didn’t have enough time to do that anymore. I hope my friends and I can go here someday.
Here is Ena, the show-off:
4. Butanding
You will never believe how near we got to the Butanding. The encounter we had back in Donsol, Sorsogon cannot even compare to the encounter we had here in Oslob. It was really an encounter.
I was so proud of myself for swimming with the butandings with no fear. It was an experience with the sea one should never forget.
My younger’s sister’s face on the top left is too funny. That was the face of utter panic upon seeing the Butanding up so close and personal for the first time. I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw this.
To see our live encounter, check this out:
That was me at the far end by the way. The Butanding was swimming to me until it went under that other woman which caused a little panic. Haha!
5. Waterfalls
We had to go through depths of the earth just to get to this waterfall but it was worth every step. (Do you see how steep that mountain is?) I’ve never seen a waterfall as beautiful as this. Too bad I forgot its name. When we first laid our eyes on the waterfall, it was really overwhelming to see such beauty unfold before our eyes. I scratched off an entry in my bucket list that wasn’t even there! Haha!
6. Forever 21 Cebu
Of course, who in the right mind would NOT go to Forever 21 in Cebu? Who?! Hahaha, we enjoyed so much in Forever 21 Cebu, it was a whole floor of clothes, shoes, accessories, everything that can make a girl’s dreams come true. My sister and I couldn’t help but put on a fashion show or in other words, I was enjoying too much dressing my sister up. :))
The chill look
The corporate bohemian look
The prim-and-poopsie look
The cowgirl look. (At naka-wedges ang lola mo! Hahaha!)
7. Happy Easter from the Yap’s
Over-all, it was the best week-off I’ve ever spent with my fam. Truly packed with tough-to-beat experiences one would never think to get in this side of town.
Love, Lauren
