So much has happened in a span of a year. Sometimes, I feel at a loss with my sense of self. From time to time, I remind myself of these things, 24 things to be exact as I turn 24.
1. I don’t like being boxed in whatsoever.
2. Majority of the time, I learn a lot of things the hard way and not through other people’s experience.
3. I believe too much rules will strain yourself. Freedom or the sense of freedom is a necessity.
4. I have insecurities, like most girls.
5. In the past, I underestimated my faith. But now, my faith is one of the most, if not, the most important deciding factor when it comes down to my life choices.
6. I am not a bad person. Although for a long time, that’s how I’ve been feeling.
7. My feelings are sincere with every relationship I’ve ever had with a person. It doesn’t matter if it was short or long. They were all sincere.
8. I like to give way for people for them to be comfortable instead of me. Because that’s when I’m comfortable when others are comfortable as well.
9. I’m a very emotional and spiritual person. I let it out through dance.
10. My Freshman college self was the best version of myself and I’m happy to find that I’m back to that self.
11. I like being serious and I like being funny.
12. I thrive in an environment where everyone is in support of one another rather than in an environment where everyone is in constant competition with one another. I hate politics.
13. The best things in life are from God.
14. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for my family.
15. The best support system I could ever have are my cousins. Some people have never experienced what it’s like to have a barkada of cousins that will always be there for you. I am eternally thankful to you, my brothers and sisters.
16. I recently fell in love with surfing. But my long time love for water was inherent at age 7.
17. I believe in “What goes around, comes back around.”
18. I am a simple girl who just wants what every girl wants.
19. I’m not good with arguments.
20. There were people who touched my heart permanently. This was my immersion family, Nanay Emi farmerfolk from Guimba, Nueva Ecija most especially whom I cannot forget.
21. I am a free spirit. I realize that when someone tries to pin it down, I turn into a spiteful person. Sorry for that.
22. I don’t dream of a perfect wedding, I just dream of a wonderful marriage.
23. I am a very passionate person.
24. I shouldn’t let anyone change or alter who I am. I know that now.
